My Thoughts

Back in 1995 some of my family and my mom’s side of the family were at a hospital out of town.

My aunt CE was having a heart transplant.

My male cousin DE and I were talking and we got some hot chocolate from a machine in the lobby.

There was a man in the waiting room with light-color skin who was using a device.

We asked him what it was and he said that it was a laptop computer.

He was listening to music on it.

He said that we could listen to it if it was okay with our parents.

Our parents said yes, and he let us use the laptop.

That was my first time ever seeing and using a laptop.

The song that he was listening to was Tha Crossroads by Bone Thugs-n-Harmony.

I was probably in 5th grade at the time.

When I hear this song, I usually think of that memory.

My aunt CE survived her surgery and she went on to live almost 20 years longer before passing away.
