Petition to the President of the European Commission
On July 17, together with All Out, ILGA Europe, ENAR, IGLYO, TGEU, ERGO Network, EL*C, and AGE Platform Europe, OII Europe delivered a petition to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. Signed by 32,000 people, the petition calls on the Commission to not withdraw its proposed anti-discrimination Directive (also known as the Equal Treatment Directive or ETD), a crucial measure designed to combat discrimination in all areas of life across the EU.

What is the survey about?
The survey explores how people whose gender identity is on the non-binary spectrum experience the law, and whether they would like to see the law changed to better accommodate gender identities beyond the binary.
Aims of the survey
The survey hopes to create a better understanding of how the ability (or inability) to access identity documents with sex/gender markers beyond the binary impacts the daily lives of people in Europe and Central Asia. Ultimately, by increasing knowledge and awareness – among policy makers, civil society, academic researchers and the general public – the survey aims to contribute to the work of developing legal systems which are more inclusive of people whose gender identity is on the non-binary spectrum.

Consultancy Call: Cross-Movement Solidarity Communications Campaign
#TGEU is seeking a consultant to support the development of effective messaging and communication materials for our Trans-Feminist Solidarity Campaign 2025. This initiative fosters solidarity between feminist and trans rights movements while countering antigender narratives and amplifying underrepresented feminist voices.
We are looking for a consultant with expertise in:
- Developing impactful campaign messages and communication materials.
- Navigating complex socio-political topics with nuance and care.
- Collaborative work in advocacy or rights-based campaigns, particularly in Western Europe.
- Facilitating networking and fostering partnerships between diverse stakeholders and movements.

Non-binary people, trans asylum seekers, and trans people in Hungary face even more barriers to healthcare in the EU.
In Hungary, the situation is dire.
There's a ban on legal gender recognition and supportive healthcare providers face immense pressure. (my note: we can't even change out name as name in Hungary is bound to gender marker in your ID, as a "male" you are allowed to take a name from the "list of male names").
Many trans people in Hungary are forced to put their treatment on hold or seek care abroad, paying for it out of their own pockets if they can afford it.
Many States exclude trans people seeking asylum until their claims are processed, or only offer care if treatment began in their home country, as seen in Denmark.

These maps are essentially display the legal situation, which does not necessarily reflect how things are done by hospitals, doctors, federal officials etc.
These maps also do not, by themselves, show how many extra hurdles there can be to obtaining healthcare, especially trans+ healthcare, as a migrant, and especially if you do not speak a native language fluently.
Please also note that some countries might have healthcare monopolies or a figurative geographical lottery on healthcare.
Basically, you really need to do your research before moving, including asking other migrants what their experiences have been.
