Big news: The git/gemtext based version of Pandora's Tale Wiki is now available to view in a web browser, without you needing to install anything!

In keeping with my preference, the website version contains only HTML: no CSS or JS.

There are several issues to deal with. I wrote the gemtext to HTML converter myself today after getting annoyed trying to use existing converters, so there are almost certainly many significant bugs. There is currently no search feature. Images do not display in-line (this is due to a known bug in my converter).

Also, I had hoped that a git+gemtext wiki would be easier for me to update than a mediawiki wiki, but I can't actually verify whether that is true until Xan releases Chapter 12 and I try updating the wiki.

With that said, the wiki does work and you can browse it now.

The old wiki remains online at https://pandorastale.wiki, hosted by @[email protected] Once all the major issues are resolved, the new wiki will take over the domain and I will ask Miraheze to archive the old one.

Thanks to the incredible work of @[email protected] , we have made significant progress on converting Pandora's Tale Wiki to git.

You can now browse the new Pandora's Tale Wiki in geminispace, at

The gemtext renders and the links work (unlike viewing the files in Forgejo).

There are still a few tasks left before the transition to git is complete.

1) I want to set things up so that you can view the wiki in a web browser without relying on a third-party proxy service. I haven't yet figured out whether I will accomplish this by
a) Converting gmi->html locally on my computer and pushing it somewhere, or
b) Trying to do the conversion on Average's server.

2) I'm going to wait for Xan to release another chapter, so that I can see how hard it is to update the new wiki.

3) After that I will manually check every page to see if there are major formatting errors.

Only after completing all of these steps will I shut down the original MediaWiki version of PTW. Until then, it will remain accessible at https://pandorastale.wiki .
