This is maybe screamo, or emo-hardcore - maybe post-hardcore. Recover are from Austin, Texas (and are technically still together although fairly inactive, as they all have other projects). Their debut full length 'Rodeo and Picasso' came out in 2001, and I listened to this one OFTEN in the early 2000s. The record starts off some kinda -core, but there's clean emo-esque singing too, just about a minute in and then alternating throughout. I always felt they mixed it up really well. I dug this record a lot, but not really anything Recover did after.

This week's #GrindayFriday is the excellent new-ish debut EP (from March) 'Systems of Apocalypse' by Houston, Texas' TERROR CORPSE. This is some great, dynamic grinding death from members of Malignant Altar, Insect Warfare, Church of Disgust, and Necrofier. This one's actually about 20 minutes long, and you probably won't be disappointed if you dig grind.
