Do we know who is going to be responsible for writing the NZ citizenship test?
I believe it should be a non partisan group organised and agreed to by representatives of the original parties that agreed to the #Aotearoa #NewZealand founding document #TeTiritiOWaitangi and that would be the NZ Governor General who represents the #British Crown and a #Māori representative group made up of members from the #Waitangi Tribunal, Urban Māori Authority and Iwi Runanga (Tribal Councils).
There should also be public consultation and input into citizenship test before making any final decision. #NZPol

If you want good reasons for the left to keep fighting FTAs - as we have since the 1990s - just ask Te Pāti Māori;

Maybe kiwis need to accept that the NZ government is just fucked, give up on it, and work with whānau, hapū and iwi to reconstitute the country's governance arrangements from scratch? Stop buying into the badly cloned version of the British government that claims total sovereignty here.
My reading of Te Tiriti in the context of He Whakaputanga is that it formally recognises Ngāti Pākeha as an iwi. Maybe we need to start acting like one?

Prominent #Māori health leader Lady Tureiti Moxon has filed a human rights complaint to the #UN over "systemic discrimination" of Māori in #NewZealand.
In her submission, Moxon alleges a "significant and persistent pattern of political racial discrimination against iwi Māori" and that since late 2023* a series of government actions have reversed progress towards fulfilling New Zealand's obligations under the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.

For anyone who doesn’t know the “NZ Initiative” is an associate member of the #AtlasNetwork a global right wing anti indigenous, sovereign and democratic movement that uses a network of groups, individuals and media to influence domestic politics and exploit resources. There should be absolutely no doubt that the NZ Initiative is involved with attacking #TeTiritiOWaitangi the teaching of #Aotearoa #NewZealand colonial history and the indigenous reo of Aotearoa.

Here in Aotearoa it's #WaitangiDay, which is an official public holiday. It's dedicated to the governing arrangements created for these islands, as documented by Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and it's English translation, The Treaty of Waitangi.
It's an ongoing cause of political conflict here that the two documents, although broadly similar, say some very different things in the specific wording. This becomes quickly obvious to anyone who learns enough Te Reo Māori to read both.

Hilariously I heard the #TeTiritioWaitangi fountain of knowledge David Seymour suggest #AllBlack and #Māori TJ Parenara was a great #rugby player and sportsman but was no authority on #TeTiriti and should not be making public statements about it.
If that’s the case I am not sure #Seymour is qualified to speak on Te Tiriti either and he’s probably a terrible rugby player to boot. -
