Petition of Ngāti Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated: Do not remove or amend #TeTiriti principles or references in legislation.

We regard #TeTiritioWaitangi as the founding agreement of #Aotearoa #NewZealand. We believe that legislation should continue to recognise and uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi as a guiding constitutional document and that Treaty clauses remain essential safeguards in government decision-making. In our view, changes of this significance should not proceed without meaningful consultation and engagement with #Māori, including iwi, hapū, and whānau, as well as the wider public.
