Anyone in Yokohama or Kanto interested in older HP test-equipment? Have some function generators to offer: 1x HP8116A (up to 50 MHz) and 2x HP3314A (up to 20 MHz). Please contact me via DM for details and prices

I noticed that I had a Pico Technologies PicoScope 2204A USB-based 2-channel 10 MHz oscilloscope with arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) that I bought back in 2021. I don't recall what I paid for it, but it now sells for $185 (with 2 probes as I got, or $149 without).
Installing the software on Linux Mint Debian Edition 6 (LMDE6) was easy and it works well on the couple of laptop computers I've tried it on, so this might turn into something that I often pack with one as basic lab equipment.
I was delighted to find that the software includes a spectrum analyzer function. (With the cheapest hardware, it tops out around 760 kHz, so it's not very useful, but easier to carry than my two HP units.) It also seems to have serial data decoding functions (which I haven't explored yet.)
Pico is based in the UK, but seems to ship from Tyler TX. (National Instruments, based in Austin TX, has long offered similar products built around its LabView software.)

Check out this photo from last night’s Electronics Night at Tog Hackerspace. We were testing vintage gear, including this oscilloscope and function generator. Proper hands on fun.

working on my photography setup for capturing old gear. Picked up a diffusion umbrella for my 2nd flash, so now I have 2 diffuse flashes. I still need a proper surface to put stuff on, as well as a back drop, but I'm feeling better about the lighting. Shot with a Nikon D810 & 105mm Macro.

Today I worked on my remote control GUI for the SDG2042X.
This project is now becoming usable for my test bench: Did some bugfixes, added configuration file, path settings (screenshot and pre-saved Settings) and, most important, context-sensitive input fields that depend on the waveform.
But the GUI still in a very early stage, at example, the ARB management isn't really working yet, that's still on my to-do list.
& yes, the GUI is ugly as hell, but at this stage of the project, the functionality is more important to me.

I’m looking for a good cheap logic analyser, and am considering an innomaker / Kingst LA2016 https://amzn.eu/d/4KsSO7l - I know the test clips can be improved, but it seems to meet my needs (16 channels, 200MHz sampling) - not bad for ~ £150.. Do you have any views/recommendations for better choices for similar price? To be used for Raspberry Pi Pico GPIO/PIO digital logic tests. Thanks! #Electronics #testequipment #HamRadio #rasppi #raspberrypi

Using DuPont connectors in the ZIF socket made it wear out a bit. The first three positions don't grip as tightly as they should. So I modified my component tester. Now it has a three pin DuPont socket at the top. I like how it looks.
I should've done it from the beginning.
