  1. #CovidInquiry – a damning report

#FatalStrategicFlaws” in #pandemic planning led to thousands of #AvoidableDeaths, says inquiry lead #BaronessHallett

'Although #BorisJohnson promised a “world-beating system”, only half of close contacts were reached through #TestAndTrace in badly affected areas. The use of private companies such as #Serco added to the complications, while, unfathomably, local #NHS expertise was overlooked.'

  5. I'm looking into my crystal ball and I'm seeing the taxpayer getting ripped off by the #Tories. Because their track record on #PPE, prison barges, test and trace, British GPS, and so on and so forth suggests that they are pissing money away and filling some mates' pockets at the same time.

  7. The stark reality of #Torycorruption:

The money the Tories spent on the failed #testandtrace programme during the #pandemic would now have paid for a 15% pay rise for every #NHS #worker until 2058.

While claiming there's insufficient money to pay a reasonable wage to NHS staff, there was always enough money to give to their chums (whether for rubbish PPE or ineffective T&T).

The NHS is not safe in Tory hands (but you know that!)

Names of who referred #Covid testing firms into the #VIPlane - #goodlawproject

For over a year, we have worked to uncover the identities of those treated as #vips under contracts awarded as part of the Government’s £37 billion #TestAndTrace programme... forced #UKHSA to publish names of firms who benefitted.

1 crucial piece of remained missing – names of #ministers, #MPs or officials who won VIP treatment for the firms.

    Until now.

  11. Nurses, Teachers, transport workers were all key workers during the pandemic. Now #rishisunak and the #tories want us to believe that they are a menace to our society. Are they really a menace?
    #TestAndTrace cost us 37 billions
#ppe cost us 8.7 billions (went to #tory donors?)
#Brexit cost us 40 billions on tax revenue
#rishisunak cost us 11 billions on overpaid interest on #UK #debt

Ministers originally claimed it was “completely false” to say there was a VIP lane for testing contracts

    This was a lie

At the time, we at Good Law Project threatened legal action, observing “We don’t know why government chose to sidestep established testing facilities in universities and hospitals to send £119m to a newly formed private company”

When we find out *who* added Immensa to the VIP Lane, might we also find out why?

    @Fascinatorfun

And who could forget the inexcusable #Excel error during the #Covid19 #pandemic

📣 Seeing a lot of “breaking news” about a #GoodLawProject and Runnymede Trust case from earlier this year (a time when I was Legal Director of GLP), in which then-Health Secretary #MattHancock was found to have acted unlawfully when he appointed #DidoHarding as the head of #TestAndTrace without due regard to equalities law

It’s not new, but it seems to do the rounds every so often. People are still really cross it seems!
