Me pasa con los libros de Terramar que como nunca he leído Harry Potter ni nada de fantasía sobre magos no sé si estoy ante un ejemplo excelente del tema o si los hay mejores, o en qué lo diferencia de otros. En todo caso, me parece interesante la descripción que hace de los diferentes tipos de magia y la explicación de su funcionamiento, está bien porque le da un sentido y lo hace creíble, no es un mero "vingardium leviosa" y hale, ya está. Imagino que Brandon Sanderson ahonda y complejiza todavía más, por lo que he oído.
Acabado "Cuentos de Terramar", una serie de relatos independientes en los que la autora visita diferentes islas y épocas antes de acometer el último libro de la serie, explicando algunos hechos históricos de ese mundo. El que más me ha gustado es "El descubridor", es en el que más conectas con los personajes. Y algo me dice que J.K. Rowling encontró inspiración en "Dragónvolador" para sus libros, viendo la trama de la rebelión y la lucha en bandos de profesores de magia (y los alumnos que arrastran) en la escuela de magos.

Pues "La costa más lejana" me ha gustado más, en mi subjetiva opinión la historia remonta, además es un libro con más acción, más oscuro y con un misterio por resolver que le da toda su emoción, aunque el misterio me ha parecido previsible, desde bien temprano ya sabía la causa responsable. Es el problema con estos libros, los sigo viendo muy sencillos y más orientados a público juvenil. Aun así, es el que más he disfrutado de los tres.

Me gustó más "Un mago de Terramar" que "Las tumbas de Atuan", más lento y con mucha menos acción, aunque le reconozco la originalidad. Además, una historia aparentemente independiente por completo, aunque luego se enlaza. Seguiré con los libros, como digo hasta el cuarto no voy a juzgar la saga, veremos si remonta en el tercero.

Bueno, pues terminado el primero de los libros de Terramar de Ursula K. Le Guin, "Un mago de Terramar". Me ha gustado, un universo y un argumento originales, se sigue con interés (ppr momentos con mucho interés) y es fácil de leer. Mis temores de estar ante literatura juvenil se han confirmado solo a medias hasta llegar al final, cuando me ha quedado más sensación de estar ante un libro sencillito para la chavalada. Pero claro, en el género fantástico yo estoy acostumbrado a Tolkien, que son palabras mayores y una literatura con mucho poso y muchas capas, no he leído nada fuera de él.
No obstante, esperaré al cuarto libro de la saga para empezar a juzgar a la autora, ya que ella misma dice que no fue hasta el cuarto cuando pudo hacer lo que de verdad quería y crear una literatura más de adultos, más madura y compleja.

#Terramar is an organization ran by Maxwell, funded by all the typical players. A bit murky as to what theyre actually dpoing up in the Arctic. The name indicate terra -- earth; mar -- marine. Ties in with shipping companies, automation and tracking, trash cleanup, private islands... So on and so forth. Definitely seems like a front group. But for what??
