Sprouts 2025 will be on April 12, 2025. Sprouts is a #CombinatorialGames conference with a focus on undergraduates.

The AI tournament is held in JavaScript. Instructions for submitting a player are here: https://kyleburke.info/sprouts/sprouts2025/sprouts2025ComputerTournament.php. I have had recent success with students training their players in Python, then using #TensorFlowJS to port it over to JS.

How well does #TensorFlowJS work? I've had some students do projects with it with mixed results. They are able to create players that make moves and those moves aren't terrible, but I am curious whether there's something else we should be doing.

I'm curious because, as we prepare to announce #Sprouts2025, I would like to offer this as an avenue for creating players for the Computer Player tournament.

having another go at getting Spice (the pitch estimation ML model https://www.kaggle.com/models/google/spice ) to work with any version of #TensorFlowJS after 4.15 - after ignoring it for several months!

Когда фронтенд‑разработчик слышит о машинном обучении в браузере, первое, что приходит ему на ум, это вопрос: «Как это может быть применено? Мы же работаем в браузере на JS, который, как известно, медленный (по сравнению с компилируемыми языками)».

One of my student groups just got #TensorflowJS to work with the model they originally trained in #Python. They are working to improve it, but I don't understand how they are not just playing against the #AI player they created. #CombinatorialGames

I'll be doing this in #JavaScript--either in a Lambda or the browser--so I'll probably use #TensorflowJS

I've never really done #AIML in #JS before so I'll have my work cut out for me.

I understand the high level process; tokenize, calculate a vector space, so some crazy matrix multiplication.

The real trick will be how to persist the vectors in #dynamoDB and efficiently calculate the scores with fast moving timelines.
