Concerning the legalisation of #pluginsolar in the UK, there is one question open (for us) and maybe there is a #lawyer here who can answer it:
The UK "legalized" #pluginpv but didn't change any law concerning the right of #tenants to use it. The guidance simply says "ask your #landlord”.
Is the use of pluginsolar now subject to the whims of the landlord or does UK law give the tenant a right to install it, as its a generally legal and regulated technical device?

That reminds me, I should be writing to various MPs about cottages like those sold off by the #Bridgewater #Canal #Company at #PrestonBrook.The terrace, built in the late 1700s, was sold off one house at a time in the 1950s. They all had brick built privies clustered together in a #communal #yard. Because the remaining #tenants all needed access to the yard the canal company retained ownership and provided an annual licence to each purchaser permitting access to the communal area.
There's no #lease. No #contract on #fees to be charged. The canal company can, it seems, charge what they like both to issue a #licence to a new #buyer of a #cottage and any #annual renewal #fee.
We ought to be able to add some appropriate clauses onto any upcoming #legislation that gives owners of #leasehold #property the #righttobuy such communal ground.

Following mixed feedback and extended discussions, City Council voted to prohibit the use of Ratio Utility Billing Systems (RUBS), in which tenants in a multi-unit complex can be billed flat rates for utilities rather than by exact usage. 📍 Paleis van Justitie, Prins Clauslaan 60De SoZa Huurdersbond vecht terug, samen met BPW! Pandbeheerders VORM en OAK Management willen de huurders onrechtmatig uitzetten, zonder enige vorm van een alternatieve woning te bieden.
17 juni is er een rechtszaak waarin de huurders hun rechten moeten verdedigen. Sta solidair met de huurders en kom naar de solidariteitsmanifestatie.
De woningcrisis gaan we niet oplossen door mensen dakloos te maken. Huizen voor mensen, niet voor winst.

On June 17, there will be a court hearing where the tenants must defend their rights. Show solidarity with the tenants and come to the solidarity rally.
We won’t solve the housing crisis by making people homeless. Homes for people, not for profit.
