How's this for landlord arrogance?
Auckland landlord Ankit Arora installed CCTV in his tenant’s lounge which recorded both video and audio. In their lounge!
When the tenancy ended, the landlord took the tenant to the Tenancy Tribunal over 'unpaid rent'. He argued that having a permanent livestream from the lounge was just “protecting his property”.
That's where it went bad for him. He must pay the tenant a total of $6,600 for various privacy infringements. I'd say the adjudicator whacked him as hard as they possibly could.

Good. Some of you may be honest property rental owners, but there are way too many smug ass predators out there. I have dealt with them too often. Down, down.
