Attempting to answer the age old question: can you make a Durston x-mid free standing?
Uhm, not with the pole set I have on hand from another tent. The longer, curved end is closer but overall too short. I used binder clips instead of walking sticks at first and it was pretty low and sloppy.
At least it helps air things out on the driveway.

I knew about the cup holder, cuz it’s there. I guess I knew about the pocket, didn’t notice. But I was finally throwing away its big tag and it showed a hidden swivel feature ~ a stem holder ooh ah.
This was a handmedown from a fellow camper so at the time I handed down my two-seater too.

The rain was strong but not torrential and then it was over.
One thing I’ll say about my campsite is there’s a river running through it. LOL
Today is zero percent chance of rain. Wish I could say the same for Saturday and Sunday…

Raymond Troup, a photographer's assistant from Auckland embarked from Wellington on 2 March 1918 aboard HMNZT 101 Tofua bound for Southampton, England. Raymond Troup served on the Western Front and the occupation of Germany, between 18 October 1917 and 5 August 1919. The album covers training at Featherston and Tauherenikau Camps, New Zealand. There are postcards and photographs of the American Fleet in New Zealand in August 1925.

As usual, the nicest weather of the trip is the day I have to pack up & drive home.
Blaze found a shady spot and was quite happy up here close to me. We took just one big trip shopping and got a half dozen eggs for a dollar.
Time to make breakfast and play Jenga-trunk-time.

Glad I checked the weather! It was sunny, blue skies, but warned of showers in 27 minutes.
Sure enough - I scurried to throw everything in my tent while it grew from sprinkles to showers to full blown.
EDIT: the rain passed and the (literally) out-of-sight sunset gave us this lovely reflection on clouds.

I remembered to grab some birch beer this trip
But it was diet
At the pool party free draft beer they also had birch beer, its sugary self. So that scratched that itch.
My other ritual is the grocery’s fat free cakes with fruit and fat free whipped cream. You’d think they’d be spongy but they’re more like regular cake.

If it weren't for the #smoke, I likely would have gone, even with the #rain Sat/ Sun.
Took Th/Fri off, cuz I don't set up the #tent Friday night & tear it down Sunday morning, I need 3 nights.
But it's #sunny tomorrow & lower PMI*, especially at a different #campground (which I haven't visited yet this #season) where I'll do a #DayTrip instead ( #masked, 'natch, if it's over 100).
