🔹 Create a #temp table with one VARCHAR column
🔹 Add a computed column that casts the VARCHAR to an INT (specify the computed column is PERSISTED).
🔹 Query the #temp table.
🔹 Notice the execution plan warning: "Type conversion in expression (TRY_CAST..."

Is SQL CAST-ing the VARCHAR to INT every time the computed column is queried?

I do not know what to think of this.

Sometimes, being a #Temp has its advantages.

One of them is that I can or rather could tell the #Boss of the #Company who borrowed my #Workforce that I'm not suitable for the #Job, and leave anytime without consequences.

Another is that I don't have to search for work at the place myself. If there's nobody who is capable of showing me what to do or better how to do the task, I'm getting #Paid for just sitting around.

But that can be #Boring as #Hell...

#Today was my last day at my #Temp job assignment. A new #Appointment is waiting on #Monday for me, and they already have offered me a fixed position as did the last company's boss I worked with.

Does this mean something to me?
Yes. Yes, it does.

I shut off the #AirConditioner for 15 minutes because I wanted to take a shower (and not freeze when I stepped out of it) and the #temp inside the #trailer went from 72F to 79F in those 15 minutes and an hour later has only dropped back down to 77F.

It goes up 7 degrees in 15 minutes.

But only comes down 2 degrees in an hour.

That's the Sun for you!

On an unrelated note, I just got another notification stating that the 9-1-1 service is up and running again. Good job, whoever it was that fixed whatever was wrong. We can now easily call for emergency services in Massachusetts again. Thumbs up.
