Has anyone some experience with running a #Telraam?
Seems like an interesting project, collecting open data about street traffic. There are already some devices in #Luxembourg.

#telraam Zähler online, muss noch einmal den Ort wechseln, da hier vor dem Haus keine sinnvolle Stelle für eine #Verkehrszählung ist. Bin gespannt, was sich nach ein paar Tagen (und Kalibrierung) so ergibt.

They are going to reconstruct a nearby crossroad next weeks to (IMHO) make it even more dangerous.
From my #telraam measurements, most cars drive downwards (on below map) while bikes go both ways.
The top roads are already too narrow so I fear for some serious accidents.We complained about the plans 2 years ago, nothing has changed

@salemXpresso @rayonsdaction Pour ma commune, on en a acheté 15 qu’on fait tourner dans la population, là où on nous remonte des problèmes. Le site public de #Telraam ne répertorie le tronçon qui si il est actif. Mais dans ton abonnement, tu as accès aux données de tous les endroits où l’appareil a été placé. Donc, techniquement c’est prévu. Faut voir si c’est inclus dans toutes les formules tarifaires.

Our #telraam has been offline after we insulated the front wall of the house and put a new window in, and it will not return behind the window (veto by SO).
So I've been drawing some parts for the 3D printer to mount the whole thing in a box on the rain pipe. Since I need a downward angle that remains to be checked once the hardware is up I made some thing with notches (the connecting rod is not shown).
Need to tweak the pipe clamp a bit more, will post links to the models when it's usable.

I've had a telraam (telraam.net V1) for many years and I realize it is pretty useless, whatever stats it picks up are just ignored by the city (flat out denying the data) so I've decided to toss it.

Ein ähnliches Phänomen lässt sich auch bei Radfahrenden beobachten, aber nicht so einfach messen. Für den Radverkehr ist die Fahrbahn auch Einbahnstraße, dafür ist ein Fußweg entgegen der Einbahnstraße für Fahrradverkehr frei. Gefühlt fahren aber fast alle Radfahrenden auf dem Fußweg. Das auch in Richtung der Einbahnstraße.
Leider kann #Telraam nicht die Fahrspur erfassen und somit kann man aus den Daten nicht ablesen, ob die Radfahrenden auf der Fahrbahn oder der Fußweg unterwegs waren.

Ja, okay... Prüfung auf Fehler erstmal weniger interessant ^^
Etwas, das mir ohne die #Telraam-Messungen nicht ins Bewusstsein kam, sind die vielen Geisterfahrer, die hier durch die Einbahnstraße fahren.
Erst durch die Auseinandersetzung mit den Daten hab ich angefangen drauf zu achten, ob Autofahrende gegen die Einbahnstraßenrichtung fahren. Und tatsächlich musste ich nicht lange auf die Bestätigung warten. Ob es aber wirklich knapp jede 5 Fahrt ist? -
Nicht unbedingt Messfehler, aber Ungenauigkeit, die bei der #Telraam-Auswertung zu Fehlern führen können:
Die Geschwindigkeiten der Autos werden je Stunde zusammengefasst. Man bekommt keine absoluten Werte je Fährt, sondern eine Summe aller Fahrten, innerhalb eines Geschwindigkeitsbereichs von je 10km/h.
Für eine präzise Einordnung in den Stufen des Bußgeldkatalogs ist das zu grob. Mit der Ungenauigkeit dürfte sich aber dennoch einfach arbeiten lassen.

(Mögliche) Fehler die mir beim Spielen mit den #Telraam-Daten aus der Wilhelminenstraße aufgefallen sind.
- Messlücken mit 0 Fahrten pro Stunde, wahrscheinlich durch schlechte Sicht
- Unplausible Extremwerte mit Geschwindigkeiten und Häufigkeiten, die theoretisch im technisch möglichen Bereich liegen, aber aus meiner Erfahrung nicht vorkommen. --> Prüfung und Bereinigung steht aus
- Anzahl der Fahrten je Geschwindigkeit und Stunde werden in % nicht absolut ausgegeben --> Rundungsfehler -
Aus den grob aufbereiteten #Telraam-Rohdaten ohne Fehleranalyse:
Von 68 633 in 2023 gezählten Autofahrten durch die #Wilhelminenstraße wurde bei 61 368 Fahrten eine Geschwindigkeit von 30 km/h oder niedriger erfasst. 30 ist hier die zulässige Höchstgeschwindigkeit. Dass heißt, dass 7 265 (ca. 11%) der Fahrten mit einer ordnungswiedriegen und damit potenziell gefährlichen Geschwindigkeit erfasst wurden. Jede dieser Fahrten wäre bußgeldbewehrt.

Weil die grafischen Auswertungen nur für ein halbes Jahr funktionieren, gibt es Bildchen für die Tage vom 01.01.2023 bis 01.07.2023 und vom
02.07.2023 bis 31.12.2023.Was mir dabei auffällt: die gezahlte Verkehrslast ist in der zweiten Jahreshälfte auffällig geringer als in der ersten. Ob das an Beeinflussung der Verkehrswegewahl lag oder an einem geänderten Mobilitätsverhalten oder daran, dass ich das Fenster dieses Jahr nicht geputzt habe sieht man vielleicht später in den Details. #Telraam

🚚 Lkw und Transporter: 27 1684 von 5 Wegen unter meinem Fenster werden mit dem Umweltverbund* zurück gelegt. 🎉
*Unter der Annahme, dass Motorkrafträder einen verschwindend geringen Anteil haben

5 daarvan reden harder dan 120 km per uur
tussen 16:00 en 17:00 uur

Just paged through the comparison tab on my street’s #telraam, and it’s nice to see it confirm that we’re a (relatively) very pedestrian street, which suggests my dream of making it an explicit #woonerf isn’t completely bonkers.
This is of course at least in part a selection effect (most of the telraams in town are focused on higher-traffic streets) but still interesting to see.

@rob_telraam There just isn't a demand for such data, unfortunately. #Vancouver cannot address issues on routes with already known usage data, at least not with current council.
Pedal Poll is just once-a-year counting event which doesn't really need automation.
Cool technology though! I hope that cities that actually want to use research results can benefit from it.
