I took a detour on the way to the beach this morning to check out this little inlet on the southern shore of the estuary which l've often seen from the other side. It did not dissappont, especially in the early morning sunshine with the birds all waking up for the day. #devon #teignbridge

The weather has been everything from monsoon-like to unseasonably warm and clear today. For a brief few minutes the mists clearer around Teignmouth and a whole load of big ships were visible in the bay. It then hammered it down for an hour. #Devon #Teignbridge

I don’t know if it was effluent, industrial waste, tannins or just the result of there being a lot of rain but the water flowing out of the Aller Brook into the Newton channel of the River Teign was a really odd colour today. #devon #teignbridge

This is the very end of the Teign river where it meets the estuary. 100 years ago this spot would’ve been busy with boats carrying grantite and ball clay down from the quarries either side of the Stover canal and onward to the docks at Teignmouth.
These days it’s an unloved corner of the town squeezed between railways and roads and industrial estates. #devon #teignbridge
