So, Switch 2. A lot has changed since the first Switch hit the market, and powerful gaming handhelds are becoming all the more ubiquitous.
The overall design and aesthetic to me screams "Steam Deck-lite". It's a much more mature, adult-oriented colour scheme compared to the bright colours of the original.
Two main questions in my mind here:
1. **Tech specs**: no mention of these that I can see. Are they going as rumoured for an updated Nvidia Tegra or Tegra-like product, firmly locking the console as a light performance experience with a higher battery life? Or is it time to look at a more conventional x86-type SoC? (unlikely, as the original Switch did just fine with a Tegra).
2. Is there a risk of this becoming a Wii U 2.0? Is there going to be confusion around the exact position of this product and if its just an updated SKU? Probably not, given it's been given a numeric identifier, but you never know.
I'll be watching this with great interest. I don't play my Switch anywhere near as much as I should, so I'm not sure if I'll pick this one up on launch. Guess we'll see what sort of games line-up we end up with.

Китайские производители не перестают удивлять: многие видят явные перспективы рынка одноплатных компьютеров и стараются представить целую линейку девайсов на самых разных чипсетах, а разработчики стараются использовать уже привычное и поддерживаемое долгие годы железо. К ним относятся решения на чипсетах AllWinner, RockChip, Tegra. Другие же стараются взять малоизвестный, но дешевый чип для иного круга применений, развести на нем компактную плату и продавать по цене пачки сухарей, подобные решения появляются регулярно. Один из таких одноплатников я недавно купил на AliExpress — некий DongShan Pi Pico W, на базе экзотического чипсета SigmaStar SSD210, всего за 600 рублей. И тут действительно есть на что посмотреть: два ядра Cortex-A7, контроллер TTL матриц, 2D GPU, Wi-Fi, 64Мб ОЗУ и Embedded Linux на борту. Более того, девайс поставляется в виде System on Module с переходной Evaluation-платой, что позволяет использовать это устройство в составе других гаджетов! Что это за красавец и на что он способен? Erstaunlich, wie gut die #Switch, im Vergleich zu ihren Vorgängern, emulierbar ist. Ist an sich aber auch kein Wunder, wenn die #NintendoSwitch auf den schon etwas älteren #Tegra #ARM CPUs von #Nvidia basiert.
Wäre schön, wenn man die #SwitchLite leichter hacken könnte, damit ich legal #Yuzu nutzen kann.
Auch wenn man die Konsolen und Spiele legal besitzt, so ist das Nutzen von #Emulatoren doch reizvoll, dank er extra Features.
