Dzisiaj, po niemal trzech dekadach budowania potęgi platformy, Reed Hastings oficjalnie żegna się z Netflixem. Współzałożyciel i wieloletni dyrektor generalny opuści fotel w zarządzie firmy już w czerwcu, przekazując stery w ręce nowego pokolenia menedżerów.
Od wysyłania płyt w kopertach po globalną dominację
Decyzja o ostatecznym odejściu Hastingsa pojawiła się w najnowszym liście do akcjonariuszy. To symboliczne zamknięcie procesu, który rozpoczął się na początku 2023 roku, kiedy to Hastings zrezygnował z funkcji współdyrektora generalnego (co-CEO) na rzecz Grega Petersa, zadowalając się spokojniejszą rolą prezesa zarządu.

Były szef Netflixa zachowuje swoje miejsce w zarządach dwóch potężnych graczy: firmy Bloomberg oraz Anthropic – jednego z najważniejszych obecnie startupów zajmujących się generatywną sztuczną inteligencją.
Netflix szuka nowych źródeł pieniędzy
Odejście założyciela zbiega się w czasie z wyraźną zmianą kursu samej platformy. Netflix, zarządzany obecnie przez duet Ted Sarandos i Greg Peters, odważnie szuka źródeł przychodu poza klasycznymi produkcjami wideo. Firma w ostatnich miesiącach zdecydowanie mocniej inwestuje w rynek gier mobilnych, rozwija bazę podcastów oraz zacieśnia relacje z transmisjami sportowymi na żywo.
