  1. So I've been drinking #Tea for quite a while now, but one of the things that was always off to me was that while I got a hint of flavor from the tea I was drinking, the actual flavor and scent weren't permiating the water, and as a result the tea that I was making was too weak a lot of times. Turns out 2 teaspoons worth of tea isn't enough, so I started using 3 or 4 teaspoons, and its significantly increased the flavor in the way I was looking for. I didn't just want a hint of flavor, I wanted that full-body, rich, flavorful experience, and that's what I'm getting now. Any #TeaDrinkers out there, how do you like your tea and am I commiting some kind of tea tabboo? I'm using lose-leaf tea with filters, not sachet's of tea.

  2. Leaning into my lifelong love for tea a bit more lately.

My to go mug this morning was filled with Irish Breakfast Tea instead of coffee. Really enjoyed it!

I need to find my #tea people!

  3. @lexicaleigh

    That's such a fabulous #Advent2024 calendar for #TeaDrinkers ❤️

I love that so many people are sharing such interesting #Advent2024 calendars on Mastodon ❤️❤️❤️

  4. Is anything better than ripping open a new pouch of #tea from your favorite supplier? Today I'm trying Assam Mancotta 2024 TGFOP 1.

  5. My mother told me I was annoying because I put ugly ass labels on beautiful tea boxes.
I agree but how is anyone else supposed to know what is inside them (knowing it's my main tea organisation tool)? I've been unable to ask someone else's to do a specific tea for like six months maybe I'm tired? 😭 I also don't remember everything 😭 #tea #teadrinking #TeaDrinker #teadrinkers #TeaLover #tealovers #teaenthusiasts #teacollection #teaproblems #adhdlife #adhdproblems

  6. For tea drinkers out there, I've always had a problem with tea. For me, its too bitter, and I'm mostly talking about hot teas, not sweetened cold tea. Are most teas so bitter? #Tea, #TeaDrinkers

  7. When you've been away, nothing beats that first #cuppa back home, made with your own tea in your own cup.

  8. This is prob mostly for tea drinkers, but curious about general habits. How often do you typically boil your kettle in a day?

  9. @caronallan

This is Kaori's cure as well

    > “Go ahead and cry. I’ll get you some tea. Is milk tea okay? It’ll do you good. Then you can tell me what’s happening, and I’ll see if I can help you.”

The word tea appears 110 times in my last novel. And another character even jokes abot Kaori's milk tea cure.

  10. @errantscience love this cartoon! #Scientist #TeaDrinkers unite! For me, it is all 3 of the top reasons. :-)

  11. That said, I can’t say I’ll never order from them again, because I really, really like two of the three varieties I picked up for myself (genmaicha and Irish breakfast). But I might at least try exploring similar offerings from other vendors before I come crawling back to David’s... #Tea #TeaDrinkers (2/2)

  12. No good feelings about my David’s Tea customer service experience. Between the difficulty getting to talk to someone (just upwards of 20 minutes’ wait for a rep via online chat, still no callback from phone support), and the amount of pushback they gave me before accepting the delivery delay as reason to authorize a return on a seasonal item (you really want me to appeal this to my credit card company?), I don’t get the sense they’re too invested in customer happiness. #Tea #TeaDrinkers (1/2)

  13. Verdict: The David’s turmeric chai is a little too skewed toward the ginger for me — more “bite” than I’d prefer, and not as much cardamom and clove flavor as I was hoping for. I’m new to “golden” chais, so I don’t know if this is a typical flavor profile, or if I should keep looking for a blend that suits me better.

(There is also the “make my own” route...but I know me; if it’s not easy, I won’t bother half as often as I might like!)

  14. Remember me wondering if I was too harsh on an online merchant who hadn’t shipped my order ten days after I placed it? That was a more innocent time...it finally arrived on Friday, four WEEKS after I ordered! Too late for Hanukkah, too late even for the 12th day of Christmas!

The merchant? David’s Tea. So while the holiday item I bought is going back (with extreme prejudice!), I can console myself with a few bags of loose leaf I grabbed on the side. First up: Turmeric chai! #TeaDrinkers #Tea

  15. I want to stay here and not go back to the bird site SO BAD but it's so lonely ; ;

I'm just gonna spam my interests as hashtags and hopefully I make some friends?

  16. I've been really into super leafy / smoky / earthy teas lately.

Pu-erh, genmaicha, rooibos and roasted oolong are some recent obsessions <3

Any #teadrinkers have suggestions for more types of #tea to try while we're still in the cold season?

  17. Ok Londoners and those of similar tea drinking nature, how do you prepare your tea?

What’s the temp on the kettle, how long do ya steep, etc?

I make tea every now and again and I’m using literal British varieties I get while in Britain but whatever I’m doing here in the ole USA it ends up being “meh” at best and tasting like boiled cinders at worst.

  18. I'm new to tea drinking. What's the favored way of steeping: Leave the infuser/bags in or let reach desired strength and remove. I've been leaving it in, so last cup is noticeably stronger than the first (which doesn't bother me).

  19. My sister made me discover a black tea from Kerugoya (Kenya), one from Tyolo (Malawi) and a mix from green torrefied green Japanese tea and black Chinese tea. I really liked the ones from Kenya and Malawi (the one from Malawi being my favorite) I was not used at all to this kind of flavours as mainly drink Chinese & Japanese teas. I can't wait to discover more! I also realised how limited my tea knowledge was

  20. Me, attempting to get around the French approach to tea (pour boiling water over it, great for black but disaster for green tea): I would like a tea, can I have the tea bag separate from the water?
The waiter: of course! You know it's a special tea, it requires 95 degrees
    Me, smiling with teeth
(I didn't say anything because I understand the need to save face but that poor tea did not need 95) #tea #teas #teadrinkers #greentea #chinesetea
