  1. Oversteeping can bring out unwanted bitter notes.

Fun fact: we often confuse astringency with bitterness. Bitterness lingers in your mouth after drinking, while astringency fades quickly.

Pay attention next time you sip green tea!

  3. Have you tried mixing both black tea and green tea? I did. It tastes a little sweeter — like black tea, dark, but more sweet. I don't know how to explain.

  5. Sneaky park tea on a cold rainy day is the best tea. An alcohol tablet stove is an amazing way to brew. This leaves no soot and makes no smoke. Better than a jet boil. Silent.

Sometimes I buy Chinese tea and the labels are all in Chinese and very hard to translate since there are not many words and #teaculture has it's ow n idiomatic language. (I swear this is related to your photo and going somewhere)

Anyway, one day I was deeply vexed by "渥堆" which I knew described a fermentation process for tea, but my software said meant "Ottawa Heap"

What is the "Ottawa Heap"? Why did it translate like that?

  15. How is it possible for the tea tree to produce so many subtle flavors and aromas. The oolong we are having today has the aroma of a wild honey, sweet but also floral, but the taste has a hint of hot rocks a mineral taste, and of course the bitter and lightly woody taste of the tea itself.

This isn't an herbal tea. HOW does this happen?

  30. Step into the world of Japanese tea, where every cup is a moment of mindfulness. 🍵✨

From the tranquil art of the tea ceremony to the vibrant flavors of Sencha and Matcha, Japan’s tea culture invites us to slow down, savor the present, and find beauty in simplicity.

“Drink your tea slowly and reverently, as if it is the axis on which the world earth revolves.” – Okakura Kakuzo

  34. Scones: The ultimate food controversy. ☕🍓

I used to be Team Devon (Cream First)—until yesterday, when I tried Cornish style (Jam First). Turns out, Cornish style is better because you actually get to taste the fruity tartness longer. Who knew?

Are you (Cream First) or (Jam First)? Or just here for the tea? ☕

Sorry for not responding! “Where do you get your tea?” short circuits my brain. It’s a complex ongoing adventure. I’ve bought tea from several dozen online sellers, half as many little shops in various cities. Beyond that are teas acquired by trade & gift from other tea heads. Jtea? They’re great! But, there is no one place where one can buy tea— many teas will enter your life but once never to be seen again. #tea #teaculture #teaPosting
