  1. "Leading OB-GYN society breaks from CDC on recommended vaccines for pregnant women, including COVID-19"

    cidrap.umn.edu/influenza-vacci

"All pregnant people should get the COVID-19, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), influenza, and Tdap vaccines..."

This is the first time the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has released an immunization schedule independent of the US CDC.

  2. While I still can, here in the U.S., I got another COVID booster along with Tdap and updated (for me) MMR vaccines.

That's 10 COVID shots for me in 4 years. It's been about 10 years since I had a tetanus shot, I think, and I'm getting scratched and bitten by cats at the shelter where I volunteer, and apparently the original Measles vaccine I got in 1963 has dubious long-term effectiveness.

  3. #USA, As #Pertussis Cases Increase, #California DPH Encourages #Tdap #Vaccination, cdph.ca.gov/Programs/OPA/Pages

California is experiencing an increase in cases of whooping cough (also known as pertussis), a highly contagious bacterial disease that can be spread though coughing and can cause severe illness, especially in infants.

  4. After reading so many reports that whooping cough is at a 10 year high right now, I checked my vaccine record and saw that I have not been boosted for 14 years. The CDC recommends a Tdap vaccine every 10 years, so I just got my Tdap shot. My friend just had a baby, so I should have boosted, even if I wasn't overdue. It's good cuz I'm always messing around with Rusty metal (jk) and this will immunize me from tetanus and diphtheria too! #GetVaccinatedAndBoosted

  5. I forgot I got #Novavax and #Tdap vaccines late Saturday afternoon (7-8 hours ago) until I was just in the shower and the bandaid was still on.

I'm extremely fortunate I've had no notable side effects (only very minor soreness, sometimes) from any vaccine except for the one I had to get in 1976 for #LegionnairesDisease when I was in #USNavy #bootcamp.

We were literal test subjects for that and all got very sick and were knocked out for a couple of days.

  6. I got my #Novavax #vaccine (number 7 #COVID shot, so far) last week, zero side effects.

I got my second (and last) #Shingles vaccine late this afternoon, along with a #Tdap (#pertussis [#WhoopingCough], #diptheria, #tetanus) shot and, so far, zero side effects.

That should be it for vaccines for me for the rest of the year.

My internal #5G is ultra fast now, almost 6G speed 😉

  7. "Getting #Tdap during #pregnancy offers infants the best protection before they are old enough to receive their whooping cough vaccines," said José Romero, MD, director of CDC's National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases. "This protection is critical because those first few months are when infants are most likely to have serious complications, be hospitalized or die if they get whooping cough." #ObGynodon
