Congratulations to Tim de #Witte #Cap24 who just arrived to get his finishers stamp. Tim - as 77 other riders - agreed not to use the plane travelling from and to the race which is a great additional sign for sustainability in an overall green race. Great to have a number one of the Green Leaderboard now! -
Schotter oder Nichtschotter, das bleibt die spannende Frage. Maria (041) und Will (119) haben sich wieder eingereiht und fahren um die vorderen Plätze mit. Kinderschokolade steht hoch im Kurs, viele Reifen gehen kaputt, Erschöpfung überall. Manchmal reichen Mut und Entschlossenheit nicht aus, aber welch großartige Leistung von allen. Christoph (001) stürmt weiter voran, bald ist das Ziel erreicht.

Unterwegs auf ominösen „City-Bike“-Reifen, den Wecker verschlafen, dafür hat Robin (003) die Kunst perfektioniert, gleichzeitig Eis zu essen und Orangenlimo in die Trinkflasche umzufüllen und die Lücke zu Christoph (001) ist kleiner geworden, oder, ODER?!!11!! Schotter jetzt und wildere Parcours als auch schon, weiter, immer weiter… Gerangel um den dritten Platz bei den Herren, Lisa (183) geht es nicht gut und CP2 ist gleichzeitig nah und fern.

Like everyone else I am focussing on #TCRNo9, but I just found out about the #NorthCape4000 ultra cycling race, which is also happening right now.
It's route is fixed - start was Torino, Italy and the finish is (duh) the North Cape, Norway. The German part of the race is going through #Bremen - and after that even through my own village.
So THAT's why I saw some riders with bike packing gear on Tuesday… awesome!

Südlich von Kärnten hat das Spitzenduo heute morgen innerhalb fünf Minuten CP2 passiert und fährt jetzt auf dem Parcours, bevor es heißt: Freie Streckenwahl nach Süden.
Wo all dies geschieht schaue ich mir noch mal im Replay an, wie Robin und Christoph letztes Jahr durch #Essen gefahren sind. Routenwahl nachzuverfolgen ist noch spannender, wenn man sich auskennt. Einfach die 9 in der Tracking URL durch 8 ersetzen und Replay wählen.

#TDIL Mikko Mäkipää has participated in and finished ALL 8 editions of the #Transcontinental. And he is riding his 9th time #TCRNo9 right now, cap no 44 #tcrno9cap44.

Interestingly, he is using #Buffer to crosspost to Twitter and Mastodon … and maybe other services as well. A good choice, you wouldn't want to stop too long to push updates to every social media service there is.

Das Transcontinental Race 9 #TCRNo9 taucht langsam am Horizont auf. Lese ich richtig, nehmen 850 Fahrerinnen und Fahrer daran teil. Erster Alpenpass ist der #Splügenpass. Ziel ist #Thesaloniki. Ach ja und gestartet wird natürlich in #Geraardsbergen nahe Brüssel. Los geht es am 23. Juli. #Bicycle #Race
