Just back from the U.S. Open. Got to see a bunch of great doubles play by several teams, including the teen American duo (Jovic and Ngounoue), who I'm sure we'll be seeing more of in years to come, and then Taylor Townsend, of course. Here she is rocking some new TT wear, with an orca theme? To go with the flames, sparks, and today's claw marks for singles. Theme much? 😆

Taylor Townsend (a Black woman) is a tennis champion. One of the best, I guess.
Her opponent, Jelena Ostapenko, berates her on the court after being bested. She tells Taylor that she has “no class” and “no education.”
Nothing like a little public racism not being called what it is.
Jelena said she “respects all nations of people in the world, for me it doesn't matter where you come from.” Boilerplate “I’m not a racist” statement.

It was amazing watching #TaylorTownsend winning her match... and then 15 minutes later watching #TaylorFritz win his match.
Taylor Townsend is a very classy lady and I'm thrilled for her to see her playing so well this week.

Watching Taylor Townsend play singles (not as fun as doubles), and her tennis dress has flames all along the hemline. Awesome! Do I glimpse actual sponsor symbols sewn on either side of her TT logo? If so, about time!! 🎾

Enjoying another big doubles match with Taylor #Townsend and am *just appalled* to discover that she can't get a sponsor. Has she been blackballed by the #WTA? Is this body shaming of a top professional player? Ridiculous! 🎾
Anyway, she's wearing self-branded gear (TT in a torii gate-like motif), and I and Teen will be quick to buy some when it comes on the market.
