The latest annual report from the Tax Justice Network, points out that here in the UK if we are interested in stopping the tax losses experienced by poorer states at the hands of the rich & global corporations, we should put our own house (and that of our 'second empire') in order first!
The UK & its dependencies account for over a quarter of all countries’ tax losses (26%), costing countries US$129 billion a year!

Der "State of Tax Justice 2023"-Bericht zeigt: Länder auf der ganzen Welt verlieren jährlich 472 Milliarden US-Dollar an Steuern durch globalen #Steuermissbrauch; 🇩🇪 verliert 26 Milliarden. Davon entfallen 301 Milliarden auf multinationale Unternehmen, die ihre Gewinne in Steueroasen verschieben, und 171 Milliarden auf wohlhabende Einzelpersonen, die ihr Vermögen im Ausland verstecken.

Der Bericht fordert die Länder auf, bei der UNO-Generalversammlung Ende dieses Jahres für die Aufnahme von Verhandlungen über eine UN-Steuerkonvention zu stimmen, um die astronomischen Verluste abzuwenden.
