Still working on my wikipedia about Gegna and decided to look up who had been playing his pieces on youtube.

Here's violinist Deborah Strauss and accordionist (and founder of Yiddish Summer Weimar) Alan Bern playing the same Taxim piece. They're demonstrating it for their book of sheet music hence the dry scene.

This was from a review of a strange, short-lived emigre Russian Jewish art music group called Zimro. The composer Pedutser (real name A.M. Kholodenko) was a violin virtuoso from Berdychiv.

I have a few versions of this Taxim from the archive of Zimro's clarinetist, back from when I was collecting Pedutser compositions. I'm not sure if it leaps off the page but I'd be curious to hear it performed well.

Conflicting reports on bomb in #Istanbul #Taxim on whether it was a suicide bomber. I think this planter was the location of the device and so IMO unlikely a suicide bomber though clearly too early to be sure. Problem IMO Erdogan will suppress the truth for political advantage.
