Also, the screenshot I posted is just how I have it setup. Can be setup to be all about album art, or it can have a ton more columns for other data to geek out on.

I can certainly spot the music tag errors quicker, as well as any low resolution album art. :-)

We have a smallish house. So we have a pair of AudioEngine HD5 speakers in the living-room area. I maintain a current snapshot of my music collection on my desktop (running bazzite).

Over the weekends and after work, I've been just streaming music to the speakers all day. No issues in any way. Tauon is so interactive and loves a big screen. Can select "Radio Random" mode to just get a nice play going.

The developer deserves attention. Just a phenomenal job.

Oodles of different ways to customize. And it renders album art instantly. Scrolling is silky smooth and responsive.

I have been streaming music to on my speakers the past few weekends. It's changed how I play my music collection. Can even sync with a Jellyfin Server!

Why didn't I notice the Tauon music player, all this time? No idea.

But wow!

I think this turned out to be a fantastic open source project. Really defines it's own vision really well. Highly recommended if you're looking for a solid and well crafted music player for Linux. So far, no showstoppers for me.

Don't like the layout in the screenshot? No worries, it's completely configurable to your own liking.

Another Microsoft #GitHub outage, another reminder that over half of the projects I use / contribute to are hosted on and exclusively available on this proprietary forge.
It's time to factor this into decisions whether to use software, points-- for GitHub.

The F-Droid app has gotten a lot prettier / more usable since the last time I tried it!

The #tauon comes with #GDroid which is pretty, but doesn't know how to update its app lists.

But now F-Droid does both!

I finally had a chance to install a fan in my New #tauon !
cpu is at 52 C.
Cold chillin in EFFECT!

(pre fan, #fedilab would bring the cpu up to 70+, Skuld help it if it tried to play a video...)

I was finally able to set up my new #Tauon !!!!

It came with TauonOS 1.05 so I didn't flash it.
I am going to have to bust it open and add a fan though, cpu was hitting 80 C...

My new #tauon got here yesterday!

I haven't unboxed it yet, because if I do, I'll start messing with it, and then I'll be late for work. 😂

My half-baked explorations into #IRC continue.
They are complicated by the fact that I've mostly been using !grapevine, a RISC OS app, that speaks IRC, MSN, and ICQ...
(This should tell you how up-to-date it is.... :)

But I've finally given up on that and installed RevolutionIRC on my #Tauon from #fdroid and it seems much saner.

ahh, foo! I'd just started a new game of Logging Quest 2 but it apparently doesn't save to /sdcard so my crew is gone. 😣 Oh well they were only level 2 I wasn't really attached to them.

Still I'll have to figue it out for next upgrade.

Briefly, it's a quad-core ARMv7 SBC with a gig of RAM and 8Gig flash, running a customized Android (AOSP) 7, in a nice little one-piece case with a very nice keyboard. (and is currently going for like $85 w/shipping!)

Yeah the pi400 beats it in CPU power? But Android on the desktop is strange and interesting. And you can do real work on this keyboard.

#UnCiv (available on #fdroid) works fine on the #tauon.

Getting it was a bit of a hassle, actually. the #gdroid app refused to download it for some reason so I grabbed it from the fdroid site directly.

I like a good 4X game as long as it's not too... detailed? Loved Master of Orion and SimCity back in the day, never could wrap my head around the original Civ.

Doing Mobile BASIC dev on the #tauon when I'll be running the code on my phone at work.

I just realized something! I'm doing cross development! That was *not* the plan! :-(

Hah! I figured out where the g-droid app stashes the .apk files it downloads!
Now they are backed up. Next upgrade I won't have to download them again.

Android does not make this sort of thing easy.
