#tatting has been such a great stim the last several days, i just fkn love how the thread feels, and im growing to love how my mistakes are immortalized in it and the metaphor for life that represents

It used to be deeply distressing for me but i think that might have been learned, bc the more i tat, the less distressing the mistakes become, and paradoxically, the fewer i make and the faster i progress ✨

Im just letting it be the record of my learning process and passed time that it is

I enjoy very much how the material and process feel, every knot is a new connection, the point is what it is and how it felt to make it, not what the finished product looks like

Been learning how to shuttle tat lace

The hardest part of it has honestly been giving myself permission to do it,

and then not getting caught up in how "good" or meritorious the finished pieces are.

Also working thru the worry that my creations have to be useful in some way or else they dont deserve to exist,

which of course touches feelings i have about myself & my usefulness/right to exist...
