@Deglassco Yes, could be it, especially, from what I read, the Republican governor, Tate Reeves, going out of his way to essentially blame Lumumba's administration for the failure. Sounds more like passing the buck and seeing an easy target in a vulnerable moment. Damned if you do damned if you don't. On the other hand, from what I read, mis-steps may have been made by the city administration but the state also bears considerable (and very real) responsibility.
I've been curious about Lumumba (following his activist father as mayor) and his vision for what Jackson could become. Given the very real history of neglect by the state change doesn't happen overnight and everyone seems to be piling on. From what I read apparently even some talk of taking the water system out of the city's hands. As if that was a solution.
