I like the idea of victory #Gardens, which were common during the second world war, I think we should bring those back, but instead of calling them victory gardens, we should call them, #tarrif gardens, in response to the tarrifs that Trump is placing on other countries, making our food more expensive to buy at the store.

The United States has decided to reduce the reciprocal tariff rate on products imported from Bangladesh to 20% from the previously declared 35%, after a series of talks over the past month.
The announcement was made by the White House last night (31 July; Washington, DC time), after the final round of the talks took place between a Bangladesh delegation and US officials in the US capital.

Major international brands have told their Bangladeshi suppliers that the current situation surrounding the US tariff negotiations does not look good for Bangladesh.
AK Azad, managing director of Ha-Meem Group and former president of the FBCCI, noted that these international brands are closely monitoring the tariff negotiations between the US government and Bangladesh and are also lobbying on the issue.

In the late 1970's my mother would sometimes take me to visit my #Mormor in #Sweden. As Sweden only subtitled shows we would watch English language TV when they came on #SVT. One of them was #AlfredHitchcock Presents. A show that was stopped being made in 1965*. I am grateful that I was able to enjoy this show that I would of missed if I only ever live in the #USA.

OK, I've been seeing a lot of speculation that Nintendo's price increases are due to Trump's tarrifs. They aren't. Prices are increasing EVEN MORE in the EU. This is inflation, pure and simple.

I cancelled my #Amazon #Prime subscription. It makes weeks that they do not offer 1 or 2 days shipping (always at least 1 week) and I wasn't able to contact support to know more (since they hide their support chat or contact very deep), but their site still states that it has fast 2 days delivery, so that is false advertising at that point.
Anyway, with the #tarrif on Canada, that is just a good opportunity to help boycotting them. So weird that they want us to boycott them that much... -
