The #TAROCH Coalition has adopted a new name, the Open Heritage Coalition.

This name change brings clearer visibility to our advocacy around the Open Heritage Statement and our goal towards a UNESCO norm-setting instrument for equitable access to heritage in the public domain.

The #TAROCH Coalition emerged from an identified need to reduce barriers to access cultural treasures often made inaccessible due to outdated policies, resource limitations, and logistical challenges.

Without openness to cultural heritage, we risk the erosion of cultural diversity, the weakening of dialogue, and the loss of shared narratives that connect us to our past and inform our future.

We’re excited to announce the launch of the #TAROCH (Towards a Recommendation on Open Cultural Heritage) webpage.🎈

CC is organizing a European Public Domain Day celebration on this Thursday at the Royal Library of Belgium in Brussels. Attendance is free!

We’re excited to join the #TAROCH Coalition, a global community effort steered by @creativecommons to encourage @unesco to develop international guidance on #OpenAccess to #PublicDomain heritage in order to remove unfair barriers and foster creative #reuse.

We are also happy to announce that Teresa Nobre will be the co-chair of the #TAROCH workspace that will draft a Statement on Open Access to Cultural Heritage for signature by civil society organisations and institutions.
