@pettter @ChrisMayLA6 I might add that degrowth is in large parts from Europe for the global north and that it is also about creating space for other development models in the sense of the #pluriverse and #tapestryofalternatives. No more cookie cutter 'development paradigms' based on #extractivism and #externalisation, rather reparations, loss and damage funds and technology transfer. That might make it attractive.

#ClimateDiary 2/n OK, so I flew to #Tanzania to attend a 5 day workshop on #IndigenousKnowledge (IEK) and #Ethnobotany at the University of #Dodoma. I thought a lot about going (because of flying) but also felt it’s important to forge new networks in the #TapestryOfAlternatives. I gave a talk about the need for IEK at this moment of #ClimateCrisis and #transition, and had conversations about all this throughout. There were brilliant young (and older) scholars from Tanzania, Kenya, DRC, Ethiopia

And now so happy to discover you are all on here, @gabi_cabana , @lucia_musu and @lorenzovelotti

I do think #Mastodon lends itself to #Commoning #Degrowth and to building a #TapestryOfAlternatives 😊

I just posted the #CommonGrounds project and video ⬆️ , really hope it will take off a bit here too

The #TapestryOfAlternatives is this actual existing, fantastic project I learned about at the workshop, but I was using it just now in the wider sense of people joining up and building #Transition networks across the world. I see #Mastodon and the #Fediverse very much part of this - thinking of all the wonderful people i met here quietly living alternatives, possibilities #Permaculture #Degrowth #SolarPunk #Indigenous
