Pixies were great, the crowd not so much, but that's what I always say. They played 29 songs with barely a break. Joey played a guitar solo using his hat and then just his thumb on the bare cable, demonstrating how he's a funny guy and more interesting that someone who can just play a bunch of notes really fast.

Alison's Halo was amazing. Never thought I'd get to see them. It was their first time playing in Portland and they sounded excellent. Polaris is quickly becoming one of my favorite venues.

It definitely feels a lot weird to say I enjoyed Launder and Swirlies on election night. I mean, I did, but everyone was checking the results and that definitely put a pall over things. It was a good show and everyone seemed committed to carrying on. I have to remind myself regularly that it's ok to still enjoy things but to also actively resist being caught by the skeletal hand of apathy.

Last night Mary Timony was really enjoyable. I love Helium but never kept up with any of her other work so it was mainly a pleasant surprise to me. A great venue and respectful crowd.

Wow what a year for live music already. Just got my ticket to Ride.
Here's what they sounded like last time I saw them in 2019 at a venue I don't like at all, the stupid Wonder Ballroom.
Thankfully they are playing at a better venue this time around.

@superchunk ruled last night. They played some of my favorites at a venue that sounds fantastic. I honestly got choked up during Cast Iron and Precision Auto. Punk shouldn't sound this great.
