The many giant school #buses on #Bellingen's small, windy #roads are a #safety risk. Small electric buses going 40km/h would be more appropriate for the area and the #climate.

This is kinda interesting.
The articles reports Raymond Blanc's funding of a bus service as if it's philanthropism.
But in reality Blanc just needs cheap transportation so he can find workers and he also needs to reassure local residents that the expansion of his hotel and restaurant won't attract more cars into the village.
So it's primarily for selfish reasons. It's so far a reasonably well used route though ...
