Howdy y'all!I'm nervously gearing up to the Big Day (Feb 3rd, because Feb 2nd is #Writephant ) when I shift from private lessons in Tang Soo Do to regular group classes. It's like jumping into a cold pool--I want to swim, but that first chill . . .

Making lots of nut milk, but with mixed results using my chai pot. I'm using emulsifiers to keep it from separating when I boil it . . . it's great in regular tea, though. Almond, Cashew, Macadamia, mixed . . .
Also, at the dojo today I broke my first board (elbow strike) & did some other stuff (forms, 1-steps, etc.). Ended up with a new belt.
Kitten is doing karate stretch.

TangSooDo is going well. I'm aiming at regular (group) classes starting in February.I'm up to: 6 open hand forms, 2 staff forms, 1 sword form.

What does being healthy mean to me? Have any life events like the pandemic changed that view?Being healthy is feeling *up* to going to the dojo for TangSooDo class, as opposed to dragging myself there anyway (I currently am scheduled twice a week. I *don't* skip w/o being sick).
I am more careful about spreading illness. I get vacc'd. I test/Go to the doc for testing. I've never had the plague, but I had strep & the flu in the last 2 years.

I've just about got my new laptop set up (although I forgot to install my Mastodon client [Sengi]). It's a bit heavy and clunky compared to the old one, but the keyboard is great.Last week I got my friend Darrell set up on his new Win 11 machine, too.
And in the the-more-things-change-the-more-they-stay-the-same category, I replaced my katana. It started to rattle last week in class, and it wasn't repairable. I replaced it from Ebay.
