TangerineUI Classic v2.6.4c2 je venku 🍊

Pokročilé webové rozhraní prošlo pořádnou proměnou: navigace vlevo, sloupce s obsahem rovnoměrně rozdělené uprostřed, vyhledávání a psaní vpravo – celé rozhraní je na velkých obrazovkách vycentrováno. Stejné uspořádání, jaké znáte z jednosloupcového rozhraní, je konečně jednotné.

Navíc opravy navigačního sloupce ve verzi 4.6 a odstranění části nefunkčního kódu.

The advanced web interface got a proper makeover: navigation on the left, content columns sharing the width equally in the middle, search & compose on the right — the whole deck centred on large screens. Same arrangement you know from the single-column UI, finally consistent.

Plus fixes for the 4.6 nav column and some dead-code cleanup.

8 colour variants so far: Tangerine, Purple, Cherry, Lagoon, Granite, Garden, Ocean, and the newest, Bluebird — a nostalgic nod to the old Twitter blue bird, built from the classic #1DA1F2 blue and the old "Dim" dark theme.

Open source, and I still send generic bugfixes upstream to Tangerine Neue when it's a clean fit for both projects.

Tangerine Neue is actively evolving in its own direction now — motion, "personality" touches, new visual flourishes on top of the base look.

That's a legitimate direction for Matt's project, just not the one I wanted for my own instance: I wanted the calm, flat, no-frills v2.5.x aesthetic to keep working cleanly on the latest Mastodon, without extra visual noise layered on top.

Co se Tangerine UI týče, jsem poněkud rozpolcen. Sice se snažím “komunitní” fork vedený Mattem podporovat, ale vzhledem k tomu, že z jeho strany chybí prakticky jakákoliv komunikace, obávám se, že se z toho stáhnu.

To si raději udělám svůj fork se vším všudy.

TangerineUI pro Zprávobot je nyní perfektně kompatibilní s Mastodon v4.6 a pushnuto i na Tangerine Neue.

Tam se to sice nějak zadrhlo - přednost mělo přidání specifické francouzské instance do seznamu, ale třeba se na to dnes dostane, když jsem to znovurozsekal na commity per oprava/funkcionalita.

Petite lecture pour ceux qui comprennent l'anglais : voici la beauté des projets open-source et d’une communauté motivée. On ne laisse pas mourir, on prend le relais et on perpétue.

Le thème #TangerineUI sera de retour sur notre serveur Mastodon ce week-end ! Avec en bonus une couleur supplémentaire.

Merci à Matt d’avoir repris le flambeau de Niléane, qui a créé et maintenu ce projet depuis trois ans, grand merci à elle.

Just found out through Vivaldi's news feed that Tangerine UI for Mastodon is officially EOL as of this month 🧡

The author ran it for nearly three years - hundreds of GitHub stars, 50+ instances, 40k+ users. But keeping it alive meant rebuilding it from scratch every time Mastodon shipped a major release, which just isn't sustainable when the fun of building it is long gone.

Honestly respect the decision. Burnout is real, and forcing yourself to maintain something you no longer use or enjoy helps nobody.

If you loved the theme, the author recommends giving Phanpy a try - apparently it was a big visual inspiration for Tangerine UI anyway.

Rest well, little orange theme 🍊

Mit dem Update auf #Mastodon 4.6 ist #TangerineUI unwiderruflich kaputt gegangen - norden.social kommt wieder im alten Gewand. Wer ein etwas zeitgemäßeres Design bevorzugt, kann sich Alternativen wie z.B. @phanpy angucken, das auch hier empfohlen wird. Erfahrungen damit habe ich keine.

Pour l'été, je viens de passer à la version Lagoon de #TangerineUI, et j'en profite pendant les quelques jours où il sera encore disponible, bientôt mon instance passera à Mastodon 4.6 et il ne sera plus compatible.

我用的 Mastodon Theme @TangerineUI 宣告終止維護，所以 4.6 等不到新版的 TangerineUI 了...😭

很可惜，我一直滿喜歡他的設計；不過也很清楚隨著 Mastodon 的改版，維護也變得越來越困難。

On this instance, I've enjoyed using the #TangerineUI custom themes. Maybe you have too.

Sadly, they are incompatible with the latest Mastodon version, 4.6. I am hoping to upgrade this server to 4.6 either later today or tomorrow. When I do, these themes will no longer be in the server.

In the past I noticed that profiles referencing non-existent themes do not load. This may be true in 4.6 as well.

IF YOU ARE USING THE TANGERINEUI THEMES, PLEASE SWITCH TO A STANDARD MASTODON THEME ASAP to avoid losing access to your account.

As an alternative to the standard Mastodon UI, consider using #Phanpy as your UI. You can invoke it at https://phanpy.hear-me.social.
