    Beg to disagree: many if not most of the European immigrants were escaping poverty and oppression - they were not deported, they left, not knowing what they would face when they arrived in the US.

    They were no more Europe's garbage than the people seeking refuge in Europe today, or the immigrants crossing into the US along the Mexican border, or reaching Florida by boat, are garbage.

    Calling them garbage is no different than the #TangerineTyrant 's slurs attacking today's asylum seekers or the undocumented immigrants US farmers depend on.
