It's not as famous as the offspring it directly inspired – the #Linux kernel. As well as that, though, MINIX 3 is a true #FOSS microkernel #OS, and as it's the software that powers the system management controller embedded in most modern Intel processors, it's exceptionally widely used.»

In the Android section, there are two major additions of material, on privacy and background execution. (At least there should be, I haven't actually seen the final book!)
It was interesting looking back at the 4th edition material (from 2013-2014) and realizing though it had a lot on security, there was basically nothing on privacy!
