  2. Aha!

I'm running pc-compatible Deskmate 3.05 on my Tandy 1000 and I've always been confused about the lack of a 3-voice chip sound player when the #TVDog Deskmate archive at oldskool.org has a bunch of music files...

This is because generic DM 3 doesn't include the sound player, I need to grab it from DM 3.02 for the TL/SL!

  7. AtariSoft Battlezone booter on Tandy1000

I don't think it's tandy /pcjr compatible, it seems to corrupt itself...

Or it's a copy protection thing...

  8. So, #RetroComputer peeps!

Yesterday I was playing 2600 #BattleZone and it's one of my favorite games. And I started wondering, is there a good Battlezone for #Tandy1000 ?

(Yes I grabbed the Atarisoft booter posted to archive.org yesterday I'm looking for something that can live on a hard drive and maybe has Tandy graphics and uses the 3 voice chip)

  9. #Book8088
    #Tandy1000 #PCXT

a good source of old manuals for 8bit isa cards

    minuszerodegrees.net/manuals.h

specifically including the #dtk pii-108 #rs232 card thats all over ebay. i needed the manual for the second serial port connector pinout!

  10. still looking for msdos virtual disk handling programs for 8086:

    dim14a.zip requires 286.
    fakedisk.zip hangs on #Tandy1000
    fdrv-3.zip requires 286, wants 386.
    img1_21e.zip hangs on Tandy 1000

dcfr still looks like the best hope. im hoping to try it on the #Book8088 mañana.

    #VirtualDisk #DiskImage #DOS #MSDOS

  11. OK I'm not declaring full victory yet, but....

dcfr004.zip runs on the #Tandy1000 and successfully extracted the files from the Twin disk images.

    We may have a winner!

  12. Ok got the #Tandy1000 set up on my desk, all hooked up.

Setting up packet driver networking... tweeking #NCSA telnet's keymap to work with the #Tandy keyboard....

Sure I've done this before, I could restore an old backup, but where's the fun in that?
