  1. Y'know what, I give up. I'll play #Morrowind again and pretend like it's 2003 again, sitting in front of my Xbox for hours and just getting completely lost in the world. I'm thinking of making a Telvanni #Khajiit just to fuck with people. Also I installed a total overhaul modpack, and this is my first time ever playing #TamrielRebuilt :ablobcatbongo:

  2. Tamriel Rebuilt is the best cultural, world-building experience you can have in a bad game. #Morrowind is shockingly broken and unplayable, but in all other respects it's a masterpiece.

Oblivion may have been sparse and repetitive, and Skyrim may have lacked depth, but Morrowind — having come before — lacked neither depth nor character, only refinement.

Once you've used a guide to find the right equipment to nullify the most frustrating aspects of the game, there's so much to take in in terms of writing you can spend hundreds of hours in it.

Tamriel Rebuilt takes a small, focused, and richly designed world in Morrowind and expands it outwards for miles and miles. There are cities you can spend a hundred hours in following up every quest line from every guild and individual and the whole is so seamlessly blended into the original, that at some point you will experience something so authentic and Elder Scrolls in nature that you will double take to check that it was just a fan creation.

Tamriel Rebuilt is the closest thing to what Lord of the Rings wishes it had.

Installing Morrowind and mods has always been a pain but GoG have now made a one-click install for Tamriel Rebuilt if you own Morrowind:

  3. I've been playing Morrowind on and off for few weeks now, on Linux if it matters. I'm using a modlist from modding-openmw.com/ and it's so much fun.
Tamriel Rebuilt adds an insanely impressive amount of fantastic content to explore.
If you enjoy RPGs, do yourself a favour and try this one if you haven't already.

  4. It's my first time on the mainland, in Old Ebonheart. No idea what I'll be doing, but I've escaped Vivec in frustration (I'll never be able to steal those scrolls!!!) looking for something to distract me, and gain some experience. I'm a low level member of the Mages Guild and House Hlaalu.
I'd like a house somewhere, not that I can afford one right now.
After my first proper glimpse of TR I'm very impressed with what they've done so far.

  5. I'm rediscovering the joy of Morrowind, thanks to OpenMW, Tamriel Rebuilt, Project Tamriel and probably hundreds of different contributors to all the amazing mods out there, and brought together in the modlists of modding-openmw.com
I suck. My character sucks. I'm having loads of fun
I don't know if any of you are here on Mastodon, but if you are: Thank you.

  6. Even with just minimal mods, Morrowind looks amazing.

    OpenMW 0.48
    - Tamriel Rebuilt
    - Morrowind Enhanced Textures
    - Aesthesia Ground Cover
    - Glow in the Dahrk
    - (Patch for Purists)
    - (Morrowind Optimization Patch)

And with OpenMW, getting all of that to work is actually trivial. (Though the documentation isn't that great.)

  7. I love how #OpenMW can display the current fps and how any settings to the graphics is immediately applied while you're still in the graphic options.

You can move the sliders and immediately see the fps counter changing.

Which I really need on my computer, just having installed Tamriel Rebuilt as well as a couple of graphics and performance mods.
