The first #tamagoyaki I ever made was with sesame. I tried the “normal” version at some point but stuck with the sesame one from this recipe:

The sesame seeds should be toasted and ground (I’m using a blender for that).

I did the whisk the eggs over a strainer thing from The Bear for tonight’s tamagoyaki, and that’s pretty magical. No crushed chips, but I absolutely crushed this one. Not adding any sugar or mirin helped keep it from browning I think, cooked over moderate heat (5-6). #cooking #tamagoyaki #thebear

Really happy with today’s tamagoyaki. Could have mixed the eggs a bit better, but the color and shape came out great! I’ve been using a lower heat and that made a big difference (it still cooked pretty fast). #dinner #cooking #tamagoyaki
