#JELEE is playing Silent Hill f. Not very often you get a chance to watch #Rieri play a horror game.

The #YoruKura project seems to be marketing the VTuber #JELEE really hard, she's getting her first concert at Atsugi City Culture Hall soon.
The seiyuu Takahashi Rie already had her first concert 'Cinderella popcorn' in 2023, so this is exclusively her VTuber personality for the #anime.

#JELEE released a new music video for the new song ってゆーか (tte yuu ka).
I do wonder what the VTuber contract that #Rieri has for this, since the #YoruKura (Jellyfish can't swim in the night) anime ended a little more than a year ago. I guess it's one of the few anime with a multimedia longer term plan..?

JELEE (Takahashi Rie) and Yoru (Ito Miku) from #YoruKura will be streaming Pico Park soon.
They're really extending the #anime #JellyfishCantSwimInTheNight into the VTuber / streamer space so late after the show stopped airing.
-
So I'm convinced that #TakahashiRie has her :deadbird: confiscated while she's on break due to surgery... because instead, she's been active on her JELEE :deadbird: account instead.
-
Ooof, didn't realize that #JELEE streamed twice already, and following the same pattern, she'll probably stream tomorrow if #Rieri hasn't went for her surgery yet.

Takanashi Rie is taking a 1 month break to undergo vocal cord nodule surgery.
I guess she really did overwork her voice doing so many characters. She was almost everywhere for quite a few anime seasons.
Hope she recovers well.

Had to let the Philosophy Tube video on Judith Butler pause for a bit while I digested the contents. Meanwhile, I am already seeing the performative and the performance in this Shigohaji skit starring real life friends and top-tier seiyuu Takahashi Rie and Ueda Reina.
https://youtu.be/pvN_Sa-5fnI
Funny, entertaining, and when viewed with the lens of the performative, becomes a richer work as they take turn performing the role of a boyfriend while being women in each other's respective birthday event.
Further meta-commentary of them performing their performative gender roles in a performance in front of an audience would probably need a Judith Butler level diagnosis, because I have run out of neural capacity to digest this for now. #Gender #JudithButler #TakahashiRie #UedaReina #Shigohaji #philosophy -
Listening to Shigohaji now, I actually wonder if the joke about MiComet jokingly being called a 'business relationship' is a reference to the Rieri-Uesama 'is this business or is this private?' tagline from the Shigohaji radio show from 2017.

This week's #ShigoHaji 193, Rieri describes her first visit to Costco... :meowaww: there are a few branches in outer Tokyo. It's actually hilarious how excited they got over the discussion.

In case you missed it from last week. Rie Takahashi made her VTuber debut as JELEE from Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night. The stream was very scuffed as expected of a debut.
It's uncertain what'll happen to the account, but she did say 来年頑張っていくぞ, and stuff that does imply that the account may stream irregularly, possibly next year.

Just a bunch of #seiyuu being confused with the Japanlish pronunciation of Tea-pack, Tea-bag, and T-back. One of these things is not like the others.

Rieri and Ue-shama discuss this season's yuri anime on Shigohaji. Specifically SasaKoi and YoruKura.

Ueshama and Rieri discuss Bluesky on Shigohaji this week. Ueshama said she made an account, I'll go look for it later

There's been a bunch of anime about girl bands, and a bunch of anime about going out at night. Rieri's been shilling the upcoming anime she's in where a bunch of girls form a band that performs at night. :blobfoxdab: Titled... Jellyfish can't swim in the night.

Shigohaji 169 22:05:
Ueshama and Rieri talk about dressing up in school uniforms and taking part in スクール革命 (School Kakumei, School Revolution) https://www.ntv.co.jp/s-kakumei/Rieri is excited about wearing a uniform, and Ueshama is a bit embarrassed.
They also talk about this school uniform shop in Harajuku (https://www.conomi.jp/). It sells 'fashion uniforms', but is actually the supplier of real school uniforms. It's where real Japanese schools go to modernize their uniforms every few years.

This week's episode 169 of shigohaji, Rieri and Ueshama celebrate their birthdays with an Ice Cream Cake (アイスケーキ Ice Cake in Japanese).
It's got lots of cute Pokemon decorations on it. The girls joke that this is the only radio program where you can hear female seiyuu ASMR eating Popping Shower (popping candy in cake?!). Apparently Popping Shower is a Baskin-Robbins thing...

Rieri (Ai's seiyuu) did a concert-style cover of the Oshi no Ko opening theme. Her voice isn't as powerful as Ayase, but it is a good attempt :blobfoxaww:

Rieri and Ue-shama fantasizing about a 声優荘, a seiyuu dorm, is hilarious. Hearing everyone practice their lines from their rooms would be so fun.
In my head it ends up being something like Terrace House, but all seiyuu, and without the bullying drama

#Seiyuu #TakahashiRie and #UedaReina talk about how they're turning 30 next year and how if you find your 'walls' in your 20s then you have a goal to break thru them. It's some interesting very Japanese philosophy... :ablobfoxhyperthinking:

I've restarted listening to #AnimeRadio again, and it's interesting how every show is talking about how this summer was HOT. 🥵 Autumn is coming soon, and I'll be flying to 🇯🇵 to see the momiji.
Anyway, I feel that the reason that I can watch anime at 2.2x speed is because I listened to a lot of these kinds of radio for years. Anime speech is usually very much slower than speech IRL because anime convos are much slower and dramatic than a real life conversations. They also match speech to mouth movements for anime (Western animation normally does the reverse), which is why you see those videos of seiyuu trying to time mouth movements very specifically in the studio.
On radio shows, the back and forth can get super fast, so I've trained my ears/brain to process.
If you're a fan of Rieri or Ueda Reina, try listening to https://www.onsen.ag/program/shigohaji
