Finally booked the first three nights in #Taiwan - would have taken four as well, but it's #Taipei marathon weekend, so prices for the weekend are quite high.

In the end opted for a hotel in Gongguan, which is a district familiar to me from my long stay in Guting. Love being close to the river for #running and getting rid of jetlag.

My halfmarathon it going to be near #Taitung but I don't know yet where to spend the week until that run. Guess I decide depending on the weather.

Question on Eastern #Taiwan - I have been overnight to #Hualien #Taroko and #Taitung (Luye).

I understand the coast along Route 11 (and 9? 2?) must be very nice. But I won't have a car. So I rely on bus and on a town with at least some dining options/places to stay and probably some options of things to do (hiking, cycling, ...?).
Travel time will be october/november.

Would you recommend doing it? Which places should I consider?
