  1. Any great mountain adventures should start with a waterfall along the trail. The more waterfalls, the better the adventure! The beauty seen, the cool
breeze felt, rewards the soul hiker beginning to end.

My friend and I set out on the Van Trump trail, named after Philemon Beecher Van Trump; best  known as the first person with a documented ascent of Mt Rainier along with Hazard Stevens back in 1870. The creek, trail and glacier are all named after P.B. V.T., even the falls below Christine are named after his daughter. Discussing plans for this trip we renamed the route VT trail as just hearing the word trump is a negative reminder of a different heartless man. Though the two people are completely unrelated. As a national park supporter & guide, I have witnessed how much the budget cuts have deeply impacted the park negatively. Still a worthy trail to pursue for the mountains beauty felt through out.

There are 3 named waterfalls in this approach, Christine Falls, Bloucher Falls and Comet Falls. Comet Falls certainly is the biggest and one of the grandest falls Ive seen within the Mt Rainier National Park boundary. There are hundreds of trails I have yet to do but feel this trail is one of the most scenic approaches up the mountain Ive found so far...

  2. Found some new views of Tahoma to share! This side of Mt Rainier National Park is rarely visited, we saw old tracks but had the mountain to ourselves on Saturday. Looking up from 7000ft/2134m this view is only half way to the top summit around 14,410ft/4392m. We were glad to be 100% done on our 50% summit. More stories ahead...

  7. Mise venkovní žaluzie se blíží do finále! Dnes je namontovali, zapojilo se to přes TaHoma switch. A začala integrace do Home Assistanta.

  13. Sometimes you cant see the mountain, but you know it's there. Just like in life you don't always know whats to come, but can sense you must go on. As Im moving into an unknown for which I cannot see... maybe someone needs to hear this quote today as much as me.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do." - Marianne Williamson

  18. Three different radiuses. Not even Gnome, KDE (or even Windows!) were stupid enough to do that. There was a time, when #Apple made good UIs. #Tahoma is a mess.

    Even #iTerm2 now looks ugly.

  19. Hiked up to Muir snowfield today; found a deep crack! My friend and I discussed our unused crevasse rescue skills and gratitude for not needing to use them. Our September turns are in!

Been doing a lot of backpacking recently, reaching some new sides of Tahoma (Rainier), Koma Kulshan (Baker) and a little in between. Im a bit behind on posts, but Ive been exploring some of the biggest glaciers and finding some of the oldest trees Washington state still has. More stories to come, seasons changing, new opportunities arising and the world has much to process. There is peace in the mountains. Hope you are finding it.

  20. Klucze i piloty idą do lamusa.

Umożliwiają tworzenie spersonalizowanych scenariuszy i harmonogramów dostępu.

Rosnąca popularność inteligentnych systemów dostępu pokazuje zmianę w podejściu do bezpieczeństwa.

  22. Been spending so much time photographing around Mt Rainier & Chinook pass I dont know where to begin my mountain posts. Caught a few sunsets, a sunrise and night shots; heres a few splitboard moments from Saturday. Ive never spent so much time in a national park, between work & free time, I'll be able to observe & share quite a bit about the area. Dialing in some natural history and learning more about how the Cordilleran Ice Sheet helped shape how we define the Cascadia landscape. Mountains support such incredibly diverse ecosystems, Im excited to learn more to share. If you have questions or know of cool resources to learn from, Id love to hear them!

  28. Via the U.S. Geological Survey, on Tuesday, a small debris flow was detected by several of Mount Rainier's lahar monitoring stations, likely the result of an outburst of water from the South Tahoma Glacier that grew into a debris flow, which isn't surprising given the current heat wave in WA.
