Hey @remram44 @vickyrampin! We are looking into how to assess inter-coder agreement (Cohen’s Kappa) with #Taguette. Is there a documented way on the easiest way to do this (technically or workflow-wise)? We did not find documentation on this, but maybe we just missed it.

Taguette is a **free and open-source** tool for qualitative research. You can import your research materials, highlight and tag quotes, and export the results!

@markigra qcoder works but is really clunky. The easier (but less featured) FOSS alternative for simple qual projects is #taguette https://www.taguette.org/. I wrote an open workshop using it as well at https://ucla-imls-open-sci.info/open-qualitative-research/index.html

RIP my NVivo license 💔 I spent so much time learning to use this software, but I think it's time to find an #opensource alternative.

@anders That's great, #Zotero tags can be used in many ways. Did you then code the entire article/document or did you find ways in Zotero to also code words/sentences/paragraphs?

It is certainly good to try out tailor-made #QDA-Software as it facilitates many tasks in #qualitative #dataanalysis. @VickyRampin is involved in the #Taguette development and showed in her webinar the pros/cons of the different #floss packages.

- #RQDA, an #RStats package which was unfortunately kicked out of CRAN a while ago, so hard to install. Seems to depend on one person.
- #Taguette, lovely browser-based tool, actively developed.
- #Qualcoder, promising Python-based tool, actively developed but installation barrier too high for now.
- #CATMA, browser-based as well, with more features than others, but I found the interface hard to grasp. Has institutional backing.

Need to choose a new default port number for #Taguette. Jupyter is 8888, RStudio 8787, Duplicati 8200...
I'm thinking 7465 ("TAGS" lookalike) but maybe something simpler like 8484 is better?
