Alternate Use:

Print out the questions on something like a index card and just hand 'em out. Let each player think about how their PC would answer - it doesn't have to be a conversation. But it should give players a starting point about how this character thinks and the answers will come out in game play, at the table.

Oh, and the answer to 'pick an alignment' is Neutral Greedy. Every adventurer is Neutral Greedy. :)

After a player has created their character, and has a pretty good grasp on who this new folx is, here's a little exercise you can use as a #DM, instead of "pick an #alignment "

ask:
When do we help others?
Do we follow the law?
How important are rewards?
How important is our reputation?

These are the key questions but they're also part of a set of 20. [see attached/alt text]

I'm not saying it's perfect. & It isn't quick; it can be but it can also open a longer, larger conversation.
