  1. SZBOX X100 is an Alder Lake-N mini PC that looks like an appliance

The SZBOX X100 is a small computer that looks more like a router or some other type of appliance than a typical desktop computer. It has a long and thin metal body with angled edges and curved corners and a design that lets you either lie the computer on its side horizontally or stand it up in a vertical position.

While the X100 may look like an appliance though, it’s got the guts of a fully functional, if relatively low-power computer. The SZBOX X100 is available from AliExpress with prices starting at $146 for a barebones model or $181 for a version with 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage.

The computer features an Intel N100 Alder Lake-N processor, which is a 6-watt quad-core processor with Intel UHD integrated graphics. It won’t break any performance records, but it’s a decent little chip for light computer usage.

The system also has a single SODIMM slot for DDR5 memory, an M.2 2280 slot for PCIE 3.0 NVMe storage, and a set of ports that includes:

    • 2 x HDMI
    • 1 x USB Type-C (for data and video)
    • 2 x USB 3.2 Type-A
    • 2 x USB 2.0 Type-A
    • 2 x 2.5 Gb Ethernet
    • 1 x 3.5mm audio
    • 1 x DC power input

SBOX says the computer also supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 and features a fan and copper heat pipe for cooling. With two HDMI ports and a USB-C port, SZBOX says the X100 should support up to three 4K displays.

It also comes with a detachable plastic base that lets you stand the computer up vertically.

I haven’t seen the actual physical dimensions for the computer, but based on the port layout, it looks like it’s probably taller (or wider in horizontal mode) than most recent mini PCs, but a lot thinner.
