A super interesting book looking at authors such as Kant and Goethe as precursors of thinking about the inorganic, which is a great and refreshingly oblique angle on the kind of things I was reading two years ago ("Kant's Organicism" by Jennifer Mensch for instance), and completely in line with the current (and still failing) crystal experiments.

Today we are revisiting some of these (golden ?) oldies.

Very nice to be able to see some outcomes of the clay PCB workshop at Creative Coding Utrecht yesterday. This is a project on decolonizing hardware by Stefanie Wuschitz and Patrícia Reis, sourcing materials locally as much as possible.

In a week time, I will be presenting/embodying my approach to research as part of the fall lecture series on practice-based artistic research of the Institute Digital Communication Environments (IDCE) of the HGK Basel.
Everybody welcome ! -
I'm not really looking for analogue computers anymore but I could not resist this small one: a gorgeous Philbrick Researches RP-F manifold from around 1966. I have not yet checked if it is still operational...

Before Alfred North Whitehead's 'Fallacy of Misplaced Concreteness' there was William James' 'Vicious Intellectualism'.

I am very curious to read this book by William James from 1909, but now I am perhaps even more curious to know more about that "Ecological Physics Research Group" headed by Glen Schaefer 40-50 years ago.

I'm happy that at least the setup looks sort of intriguing, since otherwise my attempts at reproducing a century old scientific experiment are utterly failing. We will get there at some point.

The "Liberate the Machines!" book is starting to be available so I made a page for it even if it hasn't had a launch moment yet.

Super happy to finally hold a physical copy of my book. It will be out and available after the summer, please contact me if you are interested to review it or to organize an event around it.

Spent some time today trying to reduce the ringing on top of this PWM switching of a 200W load. Nice to be using that oscilloscope again.

Glad that I found a copy of this tome by Bernard Scott, long-time collaborator of Gordon Pask.

Hybridization still in progress; spot the odd one out !

Hybridization in progress ! I had not done this for a loooong time, but I really enjoy prototyping like this.

Getting back into working on #83: algorithmically evolving analog computing patches to produce HD electronic image sequences. Trying to channel the specific anarchistic potential of evolvable hardware into the production of images.
