I just found out that #decibleLinux AKA #Gentoo Studio exists.

Apparently it's been around for a while. They recommed using #SystemRescueCD to install which is a little funky but, not surprizing in the slightest. lol

Today I spent transferring files off my old #laptop b/c I realized that it wasn't using the ancient dedicated GPU & I messed up installing the drivers like a n00b. So, now I'm going to try out some new OSes. See what I can get installed & run RAID 0.

Other contenders are:
• #AVLinuxMX, #EnlightenmentDE & #MokshaDE versions
• #LMDE which'll make a solid fallback b/c I am most familiar w/ #Debian based distros.

It doesn't happen often, but with the #xz craze and forced #arch #linux update I had a failed update (power issue during forever-waiting dkms update) which broke my boot to the point I had no working config. What I had to do:

1) Load from USB - the #SystemRescueCD happens to be Arch based, which is perfect (you do have a recovery USB, right?)
2) # mount /dev/sda2 /mnt
3) # arch-chroot /mnt
4) # mount /dev/sda1 /boot
5) # pacman -S linux

This run all the post-install hooks which fixed the boot.
