#Sysprep (#Generalize) a #Windows installation"Limits on how many times you can run Sysprep
You can run the Sysprep command up to 8 times on a single Windows image. After running Sysprep 8 times, you must recreate your Windows image. In previous versions of Windows, you could use the SkipRearm answer file setting to reset the Windows Product Activation clock when running Sysprep. If you are using a volume licensing key or a retail product key, you don't have to use SkipRearm because Windows is automatically activated."
Does that limitation apply if I just clone the initial virtual machine, our IT department asked me to do a Sysprep each time I clone the VM, so I think of handing out the VM after running the Sysprep and then every user has to do it at least once in the beginning. I never used this feature, but would like to install the special applications we need virtualized and then do the Sysprep to hand out the configured virtual machine.
Anyone got some experience with this? Ideas and tips are welcome.
