#Synty released their Sidekick characters for #Unreal, so I've tried to combine them with Epic's Game Animation Sample. Result is quite good, only neck and mouth is bit weird.

#Synty claim their assets work in Godot, but in fact they do not. The #fbx files import without textures and with textures for every LOD it would take days if not weeks to fix that. So stay away from Synty if you are using Godot and/or Blender.

They even provide a city pack that actually works to create the impression using the assets packs in Godot is no problem, because third party websites like @GameFromScratch make videos showing how easy this is. If you contact support you get evasive answers.

The fact that they ignore open source game engines and Blender, the software that was used in creating an Oscar winner, speaks volumes. I have no idea why a company would choose to ignore FOSS software in 2025 and a time where many people struggle financially so FOSS is a more than reasonable option.

Gone back to the blockout of the main spaceship - modifiying a Synty dropship into a transport vessel - the inside will mostly match the size and shape with a hold, airlock, cockpit and small bed area

I'm a big believer in getting the functionality working before polishing the aesthetics, but with a pile of these SYNTY assets, I can see how someone could fall down a rabbit hole of playing with the legos/dollhouse.
